LEADER OF OPPOSITION
HON. A. HAMILTON'S TOUR VISIT TO- PALMERSTON NORTH [bt telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday Making this the centre point of his North Island tour to discuss organisation matters, the Hon. A. Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, was in Palmerston North to-day, accompanied by Mr. S. T. Dibble, Dominion secretary of the National Party, and Major Massingham, Mr. Hamilton's secretary. Mr. Hamilton conferred with the local executive of the National Party this morning. Ho proceeded to Feilding for lunch, and met there this afternoon the National Party executive for the Oroua electorate. He intends to proceed through Taranaki to Auckland, meeting committees en route. "That statement covers the position," said Mr. Hamilton in referring to the Press Association message from Christchurch. published to-day, relating to the party leadership. Ho added that further comment was unnecessary, it being inevitable that some difficulties would arise from a change of leadership. Pie said there was really no intention whatever of reverting to the separate party designations known before the formation of the National Party.
ADDRESS AT PEILDING RESOLUTION OF LOYALTY [BY TKI/KCiRAPH —PRKSS ASSOCIATION"] FEILDIXG, Monday Mr. Hamilton was received at Feilding by a large gathering of delegate* representative of all parts of the electorate. He addressed a meeting, outlining the aims of the organisation and forcibly emphasising the need for unity and loyalty. Following the address, which was supported by the Hon. .T. G. Cobbe, member for Oroua, the meeting carried a resolution congratulating Mr. Hamilton on being chosen as leader and expressing loyalty to him.
