CLOSING AT REMUERA VERY LARGE MEMBERSHIP WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS Some 160 players took part in a Canadian mixed foursomes medal competition, which marked the closing of the official playing season of tho Keinucrn Golf Club. Members and their friends wero the guests of the president, Dr. E. 11. li. Milsom, and Mrs. Milsom. at afternoon tea. In presenting tho prizes won during tho season the president referred to the progress of tho club, which, although only ill its second year, had nearly 100 members. This progress was largely due to the executive, and he paid a tribute to tho outdoor and indoor staffs, and stated thai the full course would be maintained during the summer months. ORAKEI CLUB The finals of three competitions were played during the week-end by members of the Orakei Golf Club. In the President's Cup T. Grcep (12) beat W. 11. Chappell (0), 2 and 1. In the Cumfosa Cup J. Chadwick (10) beat F Gray (-0), - up, and in the captain s prize J.' Chadwick (10) beat W. H. Chappell <0), -1 and 3. „ . The winter season will be closed next Saturday with mixed Canadian foursomes over 12 hoies, after which prizes won during the season will be presentod, the presentation being arranged for approximately 4 p.m. " <o NORTH SHORE LADIES' CLUB In the final of the championship played by the week-end members of tire North Shore Ladies' C.olf Club Miss J. Best defeated Miss Aitken, at the liith. ' Following is the result of a bogey match played for a trophy presented, by the commercial travellers: —Miss Clnsholm, Miss Blair, Miss I. Ardley, 2 down. Mrs. Chisholm won on a recount. . The plav-off for the gold button resulted 10 a win for' Miss J. Rest, who returned a card of 101, 2-I—SO. Week-end members will close their winter season next week-end, when foursomes will be deeided, players to choose partners and opponents. PUPUKE LADIES' CLUB Following were the best scores returned in the final round of the eclectic match played yesterday by members of the Fupuke Ladies Golf Club in conjunction with a consolation medal match: —Seniors: Mrs. W. Goldwater's trophy for the four best bogey scores returned throughout tho season resulted in a tie between Mrs. 11. Bowden and Mrs. W. Houghton. In the play-off Mrs. Houghton was successful with a card o. 'J down.
