CASEMENT AICKIN MEMORIAL

Sir,—The recent letter suggesting & "Casement Aickin memorial'' will have a very wide appeal. Might I sug. gest that some responsible person open a fund, perhaps the secretary of the British Medical Association. It would be fitting if the money so collected were invested and the interest each year provided a prize in surgery to be cornpeted for bv the final year medical students at Dunedin. Thus a ''Casement Aickin memorial prize" [ n surgery would perpetuate his memory at the medical school where he obtained his first training and the new gene£ ration would be told not only of an outstanding surgeon, but also of a great man. I shall be pleased to forward my cheque as soon as a fund is opened. A Colleague.
