PRISON FOR THEFT
A MAORI LABOURER A Maori labourer, Charles Howard. n Kod 2], appeared for sentence in the Police Court yesterday on fivo charges of theft and ono of making a false ■statement to the police. He was also charged with the theft of two overcoats nn d a rug. Detective-Sergeant Meiklejohn said the three later charges had been discovered since accused was pr« u vinuslv before the Court. Accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, to follow a sentence of nine months' imposed by the Supreme Court on two charges of breakUifi and entering by night and theft.
