COUNTRY STOCK SALES

FRANKTON QUOTATIONS COW BEEF IN KEEN DEMAND COMPETITION FOR FAT PIGS [from our own correspondent 1 HAMILTON*, Tuesday There was an average yarding of fat sheep at the Frank ton salevards to-day, the entry comprising ehief'y ewes. Coinpetition was firm throughout and values for ewes showed a slight improvement on last week's quotations, while wethers showed a slight easing tendency. A full yarding of all classes of cattle came forward, with ox beef in average numbers. The demand was particularly keen for a good offering of cow and heifer beef, values in this section advancing considerably. A good entry of veal sold at recent quotations. Dairy cows were penned in small numbers, competition being steady at late rates. Buyers were offered a good entry of fat pigs, and a medium yarding of stores and weaners. Both baeoners and porkers sold nrider keen competition and last week's values were fully maintained. At the commencement of the sale stores and weaners sold under steady bidding at recent rates, but declined toward the finish. The auctioneers report as follows:
