Mackie, president of the Automobile Association, Manawatu, when reporting to the executive tonight on the attitude of the Auckland Association to the suggestion that two ladv members of the Palmerston North staff should be allowed to travel the Auckland district with the pacrol officer, in order to become acquainted with the district and its roads. Mr. Mackie said that in a number of association offices lady members of the staffs were, dispensing road information to association members, and the tour was suggested so that those employees could do better work, if there was any likelihood oi: someone criticising a patrol officer for 'having a lady in his car the difficulty could bo got over by the lady wearing a badge or soma similar device. Auckland had made a mountain out of a molehill, and it must be a very email-minded individual who would take exception to the proposal.
