SOCIAL FUNCTION SUCCESSFUL GATHERING PRESENTATION OF PRIZES The Auckland Rugby League held a very successful social function in the concert chamber of the Town Hall last evening, when trophies and prizes won during tho season-were presented.

Mr. E. J. Fhclnn, a trustee of the Auckland Rugby League, congratulated players and officials on the splendid season experienced. lie paid a tribute to tho Mannkau Club's performance in winning the senior grade championship, and said that it was to be regretted the lato Mr. A. Cowan, who formed tho club, had not lived to be present and receive tho championship trophy. Mr. («. Grey Campbell, chairman (A the Auckland League, said that it was a pleasure to be associated with the clubs this season. Ho extended the thanks of the control board for the earnest co-operation of club officials. He said that Iho valuable assistance rendered by tho ladies' committee was 5 feature of tho successful social sido of the Auckland Leagues activities. Mr. Phelan presented the trophies and caps won and also u special cap for 8 Wateno for the best Auckland player in the match against the English team, A fine musical iirograinmo was thoroughly enjoyed by i large attendance.
