THE FINAL PLUNGE
CANON'S LAST SWIM Although he is now in his 80th year, Canon W. S. Bean, of Christchurch, opened the Addington Swimming Club's bath for the season on Saturday by diving from the springboard. However, he announced that it was his final plunge. Canon Bean has been a member of the club for 35 years and its patron for 30. He officially opened the bath 27 years ago in the same mani?er. by being the first to dive in.
