BOAT PARTY SAFE
RETURN OIF FIVE MAORIS ABSENT FOR FOUR DAYS [bt TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] KAITAIA, Wednesday The party of five Maoris from Paparore, a native settlement near the Waipapakauri aerodrome, in the far north, who have been missing since Friday, when they set out on a fishing expedition in a small open boat, arrived home late on Tuesday evening. The men had been fishing along the coast between the Awanui and Houhora harbours, landing at times on the beaches, but as this stretch of country is practically uninhabited they did not make contact wtili any settlement. Owing to the natives having little luck with their iishing, and also to the fact that a strong head wind was blowing, which meant a heavy pull home, the men stayed away until they were practically forced home through shortage of provisions.
