When speaking at Hamilton this week, the Rev. R. R. Grant Sutherland stated that during the eight months he had been relieving at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, he had performed 53 marriage ceremonies, but only 11 baptisms. He had compared the number who had described themselves as Presbyterians in the census returns and the number on the church rolls. There was a discrepancy of many thousands in the figures, and he would like to know why many who called themselves Presbyterians were not churchgoers*
