SCHOOLBOYS' TOURNAMENT A successful schoolboys' gala was held at Carlaw Park' on Saturday under the control ot the Auckland Rugby League Schools' management committee. A seven-a-side tournament and running events were decided. The Pascoe Cup, awarded for the 50yds interclub open championship, was won by Taylor, of Ellerslie. The sl)yds handicap went to Wong, of Ponsonby. A keenly-contested event ■was the club relay raco, Newton A taking the honours. Following were the results:— Soven-a-Side Tourney,—First round: Newton A, 3, Marist, 0; Ponsonby, 3, Northcotc, 0; Newton B, »l, Richmond B, 3; Ellerslie won from Green Lane by default. Second round: Ellerslie, 9, Newton B, 0; Ponsonby, 8, Richmond A, 0; Manukau, 3, Newton A, 0; Northcote (i, Mount Albert, 0. Semifinals: Ellerslio, 3 : Ponsonby, 0; Manukau, 3, Northcote. 0. Final: Manukau, 3, Ellerslio, 0 In a special seven-a-side Ngaruawahia beat Itichmond A by I>—o. Pascoe Cup, 50 Yd 8 Junior Championship. —First heat: Taylor (Ellerslie), 1; Cahill (Richmond), 2; Pye (Manukau), 3. Second heat: Simpson (Green Lane), 1; Zanovich (Manukau), 2; Ronnie (Richmond), 3. Rout, presented the prizes, and the players were given refreshments. On behalf of Ngaruawahia players, officials and their wives, Mr. Williams thanked the schools' management committee for its hospitality and congratulated Auckland officials on the organisation of the gala. GAME IN ENGLAND SOUTHERN LEAGUE FORMED LONDON, Oct. 23 The Rugby League is forming a Southern League, consisting of 10 amateur clubs playing in the London district.
