MANUREWA AFFAIRS
FACTORY TO BE ERECTED "This will be the first industrial establishment in our district," remarked a member of the Manurewa Town Board on Monday night, when plans were approved for the erection of a factory for the production of dried rnilk and allied products. Members said they welcomed the venture, which was to be put in hand immediately, as it would mark a further stage in the district's development. The site selected for the erection of the factory is to the south of the township between Mahia Bridge and the Main Trunk railway line. Requests for support were received from the New Zealand Defence League and tbo hoard agreed to receive a deputation at a later date. Advice was received that the Manurewa Town Band proposed to hold an all-day sports carnival in Jellicoe Park on Labour Day.
