SWIMMING COUNCIL
CRITICISM NOT SUPPORTED AFFIRMATION OF CONFIDENCE [BT\TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday Criticism of the New Zealand Swimming Council, expressed by the Otago centre in a circular recently, was not upheld by the Canterbury centre this evening. The Otago centre said in the circular that it thought a change from Christcluirch in the . headquarters of the council was desirable. The Canterbury centre affirmed its confidence in the council, and instructed its delegates to oppose a change in headquarters. "The burden of the Otago centre's complaint is the refusal of the council to nominate P. E. Mathieson for the Olympic Games," said the president, Mr. Lyons. ''That resolves itself into a question of fact, in which the council was the judge."
