BRIGADE'S ANNUAL BALL ■ Tho sixth anniversary of the Birken- *:■ head Volunteer Fire Brigade was cele- : brated last night by a ball in- the it Foresten t' Hall at Birkenhead. The function was largely attended, and wag most en joyable. The hall was attrii©.' tively di-corated with Chinese lantenm and on I;be supper tables were arranged vases of Iceland poppies, daffodils and- " other spring flowers. The Birkenhead Firo Board was represented by Messrs. A. Hadfield and A. E. Henley, and the Northcole Volunteer Fire Brigade by • the superintendent, Mr. W. P. Roberts. The gathering was welcomed by the M superintendent of the brigade, Mr. fj; V"YVilkins, who was assisted as hostess by Mrs. Wilkins, the latter wearing a frock of ivory satin beaute. The floor arrangements were in tho charge of the deputy-superintendent h Mr. W. Roberts. The music was plajed by an orchestra under Mr. R. Salt,. > - In addition to Blrs. H. Wilkins, the ladies' committee comprised Mrs. W. E. Roberts, whose frock was of piafc f georgette; Mrs. W. Atkins, in Bcarlet chenille velvet, and black coatee; Mrs. R. Harsin, floral ninon; Mrs. R. Cairns, blue satin beaute; Sirs. G. Tilrner, aln: ond green crepe faille and nfl. ver; M;is. H, Stott, Gloucester green crushed velvet; Mrs. H. Eccles, cardinal crepe; Mrs. M. West, navy crape U de chine; Mrs. R. Roberts, apple green ft lace; Mrs. G. Davis, saxe blue crepe de chinu; Mrs. N. Squire, coral lace georgette; Mrs. A. E. Wilkins, black G georgette; and Mrs. C. Rose, figured | marocaiu.
