The function was largely attended, and wag most en joyable. The Birkenhead Firo Board was represented by Messrs. A. Hadfield and A. E. Henley, and the Northcole Volunteer Fire Brigade by • the superintendent, Mr. W. P. Roberts. The gathering was welcomed by the M superintendent of the brigade, Mr. fj; V"YVilkins, who was assisted as hostess by Mrs. Wilkins, the latter wearing a frock of ivory satin beaute.
