BROWN'S BAY FUNCTION
TENNIS AND DANCE The Brown's Bay Tennis Club organised a most successful Yankee tournament on Saturday at Brown's Bay to benefit one of their members, Miss Laura Meade, who was scalded a few months ago when a tea urm fell on her in the tennis pavilion. Fortunately the weather was fine for the tournament, in which much interest was taken. The ladies' competition was won by Miss Anno Wiltshire. The men's section ended in a dead-heat, Messrs. Norman Middleton and Howard Mullinger tieing for first place. The dance which followed was a huge success, the music of Mr. Noel Johnson's Melody Boys, who very generously gave their services free, greatly assisting. Miss Meade, the guest of the evening, was presented by the president of the Tennis Club with a bouquet. Mr. Frank Broad returned thanks on bohalf of the guest of honour. Mr. S. Mullinger, president of the Brown's Bay Tennis Club, was in charge of the dance programme. The supper was provided by the ladies. The function was held in the cabaret, which had been loaned expressly for the purpose by the proprietor, Mr. N. Silich.
