DEATH AT 110 YEARS
NATIVE'S REPUTED AGE [FROM OtTB OWN CORRESPONDENT] CAPETOWN. August 12 A native died last month in a Natal farming district at th(v reputed age of 110. His groat ambition was to work until he died; until a few months ago he was most active and energetic. During the last few years, to keep himself fit, he carried huge boulders from the neighbourhood to his kraal for the purpose of making a wall. His strength was said to be amazing. He leaves a 90-year-old widow and two sons aged 60 and 65. The old man was buried in the usual native manner, which is in a sitting position with a large stone above his head. This, the natives contend, is to prevent his spirit rising'. *"
