ORCHARD EMPLOYEES
AWARD SCHEME DISCUSSED RESOLUTION OF GROWERS [By telegbaph—press association] HABTINGS, Monday . The following resolution was carried unanimously at a largely-attended meeting of the Hawke's Bay Fruitgrowers' Association to consider matters in connection with the suggested award for orchard employees: —"That fruitgrowers, being desirous of extending to their employeen the benefits of the recent legislation with regard to wages and other conditions of labour, which at present they are unable to do because of the unsatisfactory financial position of the industry as a result of low prices, both overseas and locally, the Government be requested to _take immediate steps to ensure that fruitgrowers are placed in a position of ao doing." ■
