FLAMES DESTROY CARS
SEQUEL TO COLLISION OCCUPANTS' LUCKY ESCAPF ["BV TKIiKGRAPH —PRKSS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Sunday Three people had a miraculous escaps from serious injury or death- when a motor-car struck the back of another and both caught lire on the Hutt, Road shortly after 7 o'clock last evening. The cars were destroyed. Two passengers in one vehicle suffered minor injuries. A car owned and driven by Mr. James Perrett, of Newtown, was proceeding along the Hutt Road fro® Petono to Wellington when it developed engine trouble and stopped. Mr. Pel ret set oft to'walk to a service station. The other car came along and craslie into the back of the stationary vehicle, and fire immediately broke out- _ strong wind fanned the flames, so tba in a few seconds the two cars were tne centre of an inferno. The three OCC * pants of the second car scrambled ous before the flames reached them.
