JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP EASY WIN FOR N. AMBLER TEAM EVENT TO PRESBYTERIAN The Auckland junior cross-country championship was held on Saturday, over ;i 4 J ,-miles course, starting from tlio Avondale racecourse. The trail consisted of one lap of the circuit, formerly used ..for the Auckland harrier championship, and was in a heavy state after the recent rain. A good field started fast, Brown, I'errott and ICdgar going to the front. Edgar was ahead of Ambler, Perrett, Thorpe and Tweedio at half-way, all these ru miers being bunched. Taylor, Thompson and lirown were just behind. On the run home Ambler went to the front and, runflint? in easy style, won from lirown, who finished very strongly over the last mile. PRESBYTERIAN CLUB AVit'll six members competing in the junior championship on Saturday the attendance at Die Presbyterian Club's run at Takapuna was reduced to 25. A trail of five miles, laid by llolden and Robertson, left St. George's Church to follow Taharoto Road as far as the football ground, where it branched off through the fields past the golf links. It then lead over country toward Northcote and Birkenhead. No runs-in were held. After the run afternoon tea was provided by the Rev. P. Cattanach and ladies of the church, to whom thanks wero extended by the club captain. , _ . The season will be concluded next Saturday with the inter-church teams' rare for the banner at present Ijeld by St. Stephen s. The run will be from Balmoral CnurcD, commencing at 2.30 p.m.

LYNNDALE CLUB Tho Lynndale Club held a short run from tho Avondale racecourse on Saturday. Some of the runners laid the trail for the junior cross-country championship, these being polan, Henderson, Darbyshire and McCoinbie. Other members showed good form for uiis time of tho year, 11. Bennett being outstanding. T. Collins and R. Crompton were prominent. This run was tho last of the season which will be concluded next Saturday with a field day at the clubs track at New Lynn.
