PHILISTINES' CLUB

Enjoyable entertainment was provided at a meeting of the Philistines' Club held in the Amateur Operatic Society's Hall on Saturday night. Mr. H. McD. Vincent was chairman. Songs were sung by Miss Cynthia Lambert and Mr. Ernest J. Thomas; humour was provided by Mr. Alan McElwain, and the Lyric Quartette, Messrs. A. Ripley, F. Campbell, A. McElwain and E. J. Thomas, gave much pleasure with their selections. A sketch, "Get Out of Your Cage, was presented by the Hamilton Playbox, tho producer being Miss Roma Garratt. Taking part were Mrs. E. Marsh, Mrs. H. Varney, Mrs. G. Parkhouse, Mrs. H. Absolum, Miss Margaret Roe and Miss Roma Garratt. Among those present were: —Mrs. W. J. Dallen, Mrs. C. D. McLean, Mrs. D. Taylor, Mrs. Jock Allen, Mrs. H. T.
