[BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WANGANUI, Monday A good deal of fast work having been done on Saturday and with Tuesday recognised as one of the mornings for fast work, there was little done on the Wanganui tracks this morning. A cold / north-westerly wind was blowing during the early work and later there was a heavy shower. During the day a boisterous, drying wind promised to have a beneficial effect on the track. W. Rayner was out with his largo team before breakfast. The Te Awamutu trainer A. Cook also gave Gallio and Jonathan useful work. He had out also Girl Pat, the Captain Bunsby— Prophet's Mark filly purchased at the Trentham sales by Mr. C. E. RobertBon, on the No. 2 grass track. W. McHugh sent a couple of the Marton Junction team along at a solid pace, Laughing Lass covering six furlongs well in 1.18. Middle and Entheos ran six furlongs in 1.21. After covering a couple of furlongs down the back at a smart pace, Lucid us pleased better than Just an luca in «i bout over two schooling hurdles, tho northerner showing a goocT deal of pace and fencing cleanly. HAWKE'S bay horses CONTINGENT FOR WANGANUI [by TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] HASTINGS, Monday The following horses are booked to leave Hastings for Wanganui to-mor-row morning:—Sunny Blonde, Master Cyklon, Chat, Black Frost, Hunting Jay, Host, Gasman, Count Siegfried, » Passion Flower, John Charles, Mate Hari, Charade, Cand.co, Hunting Cat, Screen Star, First Chapter, Sardius, Essex and Hatuma. . Stroller, Beau Star and Wahme Nm did not return home from New I ijmouth, but remained at Wanganui. Black Frost, a maiden candidate, / went well in his final trial to easily / account for Hcst over five furlongs n 1.8, a good gallop tor a horse in his class. He will be ridden by P. Atkins.
