TRAFFIC OUTLET
THE REMUERA SCHEME SUPPORT AT MANUREWA "This is one of the most desirable schemes yet propounded," said Mr. H. ]{. Maxwell, at the meeting of the Manurewa Town Board last night, when the eastern traffic outlet scheme proposed by the "Remuera East Ratepayers' Association was considered. The association stated the suggested route would provide a convenient alternative traffic outlet to the east and south, connecting with the Great South Road at Otahuhu. It would also be a very practicable unemployment work. , : Mr. J. H. Edwards said there had been considerable agitation for a harbour bridge and a scenic roadway, but this traffic route was most essential. It would relieve congestion at the Newmarket bottle-neck, and facilitate the development of outer suburbs. Mr. Maxwell said many motorists alreadv preferred to take the Parnell route 'with all its present disabilities rather than traverse the congested "SVaTdecfded'u)" supportthe^heme.
