Two or three fast gallops were accomplished, especially pleasing being those of Sunny Blonde and the hurdler Hunting Jay. Servitor and Lacquer ran three furlongs in 375. The former, a two-year-old, did the best gallop that has been recorded on the local track by one of his age this season. Gasman was fighting for his head all the way when taking 1.20 for six furlongs. He is very fit. The maiden candidate Sunny Blonde had for her companion the smart hack Blue Shirt, and showed up in a favourable light by breaking 49s for four furlongs. She should go well at Wanganui. Hest was never off the bit when beating Royal Bengal over six furlongs in 1.19. Lavina and Silver Tide covered five furlongs in 1.6}, the former running wide. Lavina looks like an early winner, but she is not going to .Wanganui*
