POLICE FOR ROTORUA
ADDITIONS TO STAFF MINISTER'S ANNOUNCEMENT [by telegraph—special reporter] WELLINGTON, Thursday Following on the recent visit to Rotorua of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. D. J. Cummings, who has reported upon the requirements of the district, the Minister in charge of the Police Department, the Hon. P. Fraser, announces that the police strength in the borough of Rotorua is to be increased by the addition of one sergeant and three constables. The Minister is convinced that this will give the district ample police supervision for some time to come and will in particular allow of some member of the staff being on duty in the office over the whole of the 24 hours.
One of the proposed additional constables will give special attention to the Ngongotaha district. The individual transfers necessary havo not yet been decided.
