HOWICK BOWLING CLUB
LOAN PROPOSAL DISCUSSED A proposal to apply to the Local Government Loans Hoard lor permission to borrow £BOO for the acquisition of the property of the How irk Bowling and Croquet Club was discussed at a public mooting convened by the Howick Town Board on Wednesday niirht. The club lias been in finanical difficulties owing to lack of support; and necessary expenditure on improvements. The well-known sportsman. Mr. Arthur Selby, who is president of the club, made an appeal for new members, and several other speakers also expressed their views on the proposal. No decision was reached.
