SENIOR GRADE CONTESTS CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION THISTLE TO PLAY PONSONBY Matches in the third round of the Auckland Football Association's first, division championship will bo continued to-morrow, when interesting games arc anticipated. The principal contest at til and ford Park, will be between Thistle and Ponsonby. Although Thistle is live points behind Ponsonby on the championship table, the former, owing to the fact that it has several outstanding games to decide, has a good chance of securing the premiership honours. Both clubs will be fielding strong elevens to-morrow, so that there is every prospect ot a close and exciting struggle.
Metro-College and Mount Albert Grammar Old ISovs will •meet in the curtain-raiser panie at Blandford Park, commencing at I.HO p.m. Mount Albert is level in the lead with Ponsonby at tho moment, but tho former's recent displays indicate that the side v ill have to show marked improvement in the game against Metro-College in order to retain its position. Tho improving North Sliore tcttuu will moot Comrades til Devonport.
