ST. JOHN'S, OPOTIKI [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] OTOTIKI, Thursday There was a largo attendance at tho annual meeting of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Opotiki. It was announced that there was a general increase in the contributions and that the various activities were in a healthier condition. The election of tho board of managers resulted as follows: —Messrs. h. Abbot, I). Aukl, Thompson, G. Neilson, J. Love, Baird, H. Rowland, E. Parkinson, G. F. Kibblewhite, J. R. Sinclair, I). Debrecenv, McKillop and H. J. Reeves. The Rev. R. Morgan and Mr. J. Dunlop were elected elders.
VALUE OF ENVELOPE SYSTEM TOTAL OF £568 SUBSCRIBED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday The value of the envelope system in assuring church finance was demonstrated at tho annual. meeting of the congregation of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, when it was reported that the 171 subscribers to the envelope system bad subscribed £. r >oß for the year. Other adherents, visitors and children had given £IOO through the plate. Tho amount raised for all church purposes during the year was £1385. In one year recently the amount given through tho envelopes at St. Andrew's was £052.
