ONEHUNGA BUSINESS MEN

Excellent films depicting the commercial, industrial and social life, and the wild scenic attractions of Canada were screened in the Orphans' Hall, Onehunga, last evening by Mr. G. M. Croft, Canadian Trade Commissioner

for New Zealand. The gathering, which was open to the public and well attended, was organised by the One-hunga-Mannkau Chamber of Commerce, the president, Mr. F. C. Matthews, presiding. Ln an interesting address. Mr. Croft referred to a steadily growing demand in Canada for further information regarding New Zealand, its people and its products, indicating a general desire on the part of Canadians for a closer relationship of the two dominions both commercially and socially.

The goodwill between the two countries was also mentioned by Mr. J. _D. Twentyman, who recalled the high opinions formed by New Zealanders of the Canadian troops in the Great War. Mr. Matthews advocated fuller use by business men of the machinery provided by the Chamber of Commerce for the advancement of local interests.
