HERR HITLER KISSED
INCIDENT AT OLYMPIAD PLUMP WOMAN'S ENTHUSIASM (Received August 10, 5.5 p.m.) BERLIN, August 15 Just before the finish of tho men's 1500 metres swimming event, a plump woman, conspicuous in a red hat, whom the Black Guards repeatedly had prevented from photographing Herr Hitler at close range, broke the cordon during the" prevailing excitement. She shook Herr Hitler's hand and kissed him* while the crowd of 20,000 spectators rocked with laughter. Herr Hitler himself was in high spirits and joined in the fun, clapping his hands as the woman returned triumphantly to her seat. Herr Hitler, who sat with FieldMarshal Mackensen, showed great interest in the .race, and rose to his feet applauding the exciting -fight for second place. " The water polo match between Germany and Belgium was prefaced by the incongruous spectacle of a German team clad only in slips, bobbing up in the water to "heil Hitler." The match was played in a bedlam of whistling and jeering, and shouting to the French referee to send out players for fouls was frequent. Three players on either Bide were suspended temporarily.
Herr Hitler remained to the end and received a farewell of "heils" from the victorious Germans through a lane of extended arms.
