FARCICAL BOXING

DRAWN BOUT AT MELBOURNE ROSENBLOOM AND KELLY (Received August 10, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, August 10 What is regarded as the most farcical boxing contest for years occurred last evening at tho West Melbourne Stadium when tho referee, Mr. J. Wallis, of Sydney, declared a bout between Max Rosenbloom and Leo Kelly a draw. The crowd, which numbered 10,000, repeatedly counted the men out. The contest was very dull and rarely was a decent blow struck. Tho bout contained considerable clinching and was quite unworthy of tho standard of the two outstanding boxers. What clean work there was was displayed by Rosenbloom, and his slapping left was never out of Kelly's face.

Kelly's only "purple patch" was in the seventh round, when a vicious left connected with Roscnbloom's chin and had him in a littlo trouble.
