PRESENTATION
The retirement of Mr. T. O'Carroll from the position of fields inspector of the Lands Department in the Whangarei district was marked by a gathering of returned soldiers on Saturday morning. Mr. K. M. Stevens, who presided, referred to the wonderful assistance Mr. O'Carroll had been to tho men during his term of office, which covered a period of fourteen years. On behalf of the settlers, Mr. Stevens presented Mr. O'Carroll with a writing desk, wallet and scroll containing the names of the settlers..
