SCHOOL DENTAL CLINIC
WHANGAREI DISTRICT WORK RECORD NUMBER OF CASES [from our own correspondent] WHANG'AREI, Saturday A strong financial position and a record number of cases dealt with were the outstanding features disclosed at tho annual meeting held this afternoon of the Whangarei County Schools' Dental Clinic committee. Mr. C. Smith presided. Tho annual report showed that the total number of cases treated for the year was 1828, .in average of 152 cases a month, as compared with 1-12 cases a month during tho previous year. The number of patients under regular treatment was 580, including 104 under school age. The committee considered the time inopportune to reduce tho fee of 4s a child per annum for dental treatment, until it was aware of the Government's intentions in the matter of future treatment. Nurse J. Jenkins hud been transferred to Dunedin and Miss Jones had succeeded her. The balance-sheet showed the balance of £2O on hand at the beginning of the year had been increased to £l9 at tho end of the year. The amount owing by country schools was £3O. The following committee was elected for tho ensuing year:—Messrs. C. Smith (chairman), Kussell, F. A. Farmer (secretary), and W. J. Bell. A sum of £3 3s was voted to the secretary as remuneration for the year's services.
