Mrs. J. H. Poulter, of Wellington, is at the Royal Hotel. iMiss Leah Freeman left yesterday on a short visit to Cambridge. M iss Jean Wilson, Mountain Road, Epsom, is spending a holiday at the Chateau. Miss Anne Gillingham, Grafton Road, is spending a few days in Rotorua. Mrs. Nello Porter, Victoria Avenue, Rentuera, is spending a holiday in Rotorua. Miss Joan Biss, of Epsom Avenue, will leave by the Aorangi on Tuesday to visit Fiji. Mrs. S. E. Gillingham, of Gisborne, ■will arrive to-morrow to spend a few days in Auckland. Mrs. G'. H. Taylor, of Christchurch, and Miss A. Hansen, of Los Angeles, are at the Cargen Hotel.
Mrs. Culford Bell left last evening for "Nelson, to adjudicate in elocution at the competitions festival.
Miss E. M. Hume, of Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs. R. Atkinson Abbott, upland Road, Remuera.
Mrs. Stewart Reid and Mrs. Neil Rcid, of Hamilton, returned by the Wanganella yesterday from a visit to Sydney. i
Miss'Olga Hunter, of Hastings, who has been visiting her aunt, Miss I. Maysmore, Grafton Road, returned home yesterday.
Mrs. J. Wooller, of Omahu Road, Remuera, is staying with her sister, Mrs. D. Murray, Orongo, Cambridge, during Jubilee Week.
Overseas visitors at the Grand Hotel include:—Mrs. G. H. Strock (Detroit), Mrs. J. D. Firth (London), and Miss M. Newkirk (Philadelphia). '
Miss June Harrison-Smith, of Victoria Avenue, Remuera, will leave today for National Park, where she will Btay with Mrs. R. McCracken.

Mrs. Herbert Sanford and Miss 0. Telas of Henderson Valley, have been upending a holiday in Tauranga, where they were the guests of Mrs. E. J. Browning, 7th Avenue, Tauranga.
A bring and buy sale was held yesterday afternoon by the Daisy Chain Club.* Competitions were won by Mrs. Home, Mrs. Mowlem, and Mrs. Chalmers. A consolation prize was presented to Mrs. Mardle.
A pleasant afternoon was spent by the Mount Albert Women's Christian Temperance Union on Thursday, when the annual "pay up" social was held. Mrs. Harvey, of. Mount Albert Road, sang several songs, which were much enjoyed. Afternoon tea was served.
A social evening in aid of Plunket funds was held at the residence of Mrs. Harveng, president of the Henderson branch of the Plunket Society. Novelty events, dancing and cards were enjoyed. Prize winners were Mr. D. Smith, Mrs. Hayes, and Miss L. Ozich.
The Women's Progress Club met on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. C. Dickens presiding. Members and friends were interested in a travel talk by Dr. Gladys Montgomery. Songs were sung by Airs. W. Young. Hostesses for tea were Mesdames Green, Hubbert and Rutledge.
Mrs. Alfred Kidd, of Epsom, president of the New Zealand Free Kindergarten Union, accompanied oy Miss M. S. Newman, . acting principal for the Auckland association, left yesterday by motor-car for Wellington to attend the Dominion conference of the •union, which opens next week.
