SALE OF HOME BREW
HIGH SPIRIT CONTENT FINES OF £lO IMPOSED [BY TET,EfiRAPn —PRESS ASSOCIATION] ASHBURTON, Friday A fine of £lO was imposed on Ernest Dobbin for selling liquor without a licence. A similar penalty was imposed on William Brellin. The polieo stated that an analysis of the home brew seized {showed that there was 9.31 per cent proof spirit in one brew One hundred and sixteen bottles were found, apart from large barrels of brew.
In inflicting the maximum fine of £2 on men found on tho premises the magistrate said it was a pity they could not be charged with aiding and abetting.
