PRIEST FAREWELLED

TRIBUTES TO FATHER TERRY r— —• With the object of taking a t'ivo years' course of instruction under the Very Rev. Dr. Corcoran, S.J., at the National University of Ireland, Dublin, Father F. K. Terry, diocesan inspector of Roman Catholic schools and colleges in Auckland for the past isix years, will leave to-night by the AUaroa. Father Terry will visit many education centres in the British Isles and the United States. Five hundred children took purt in a farewell ceremony to Father Terry at St. Joseph's School, New Lynn, a presentation being made by the Rev. Brother Tarcisius. Parishioners of Parnell took leave of Father Terry during the week, when speeches of appreciation were made by Mr. £L C. McCoy, Monsignor Edge and others, and a presentation was made. Other Roman Catholic institutions in Parnell also bade him farewell.

Bishop Liston imd Monsignor Cahill paid tribute to Father Terry's wcrk at an assembly of clergy at St. Patrick's Cathedral Presbytery, and a presentation was made. Last night Father Terry was the guest of honour at a dinner given at the Sacred Heart C allege by the Old Boys' Association.
