FINNISH BARQUE BECOMES A TOTAL LOSS: SHIP'S BACK BROKEN AFTER BEING BROUGHT TO HARBOUR The Herzogin Cccilie aground in Stair Hole Bay where she was beached for temporary repair, after having been towed off the rocks on the coast of Devon. The bench was reputed to be firm sand, but the ebb tide revealed a reef of rock which fractured the vessel s keel.
