TOUR BY AMERICANS MATCH AT ST. ANDREWS [I'KO.M OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Sunday Ideal conditions wero experienced for the exhibition match in which Miss Helen Hicks and (Jetie Sarazen, of America, played a four-ball game against Alex. .Murray and 'I. Calloway, of Auckland, at St. Andrews links, Hamilton, yesterday. A gallery of approximately 350 followed the players and some good golf was witnessed. The match ended all square. Miss Hicks impressed by her steadiness, and she hit only two shots off the line in the whole round, her tec shot at the first and her approach lo the ninth. The latter shot was excusable, as her ball was lying on a slope. She won the third, halved the fiflh with a birdie, halved the I 11It. and also the Kith. At the latter she holed a fine putt for a birdie four. At each of (lie holes mentioned her partner was out of the picture. Another birdie which she secured was at the second.

Murray was very impressive, and he was. hitting Hie longest balls from the tees. He won the first and 1 ."it It holes and. with Calloway, the eighth and 17th holes. Sarazen won the fourth, ninth and tenth, each with birdies—l, 3, 2 respectively. Calloway won no holes himself, hut he obtained several very useful halves, and shared with Murray the two wins already mentioned. The approximate stroke scores were:— Sarazen, 70; Murray, 70; Galloway, 73 for 17 holes; Miss Ificks, 70. .Murray put his tee shot at the 13th out of bounds and his next found the blinker (275 yards) on the full, the hole taking six. A very interesting demonstration was given by both Americans after the match, and descriptions of various shots were given by Sarazen. All the visiting players were very impressed with the statu of the links, which were in especially good order owing to the fine weather conditions.

LADIES' INTER-CLUB MATCH An inter-club match played between members of the Glendowie and Papakura Ladies' Golf Clubs resulted in a win Tor Papakura by five matches to three, one being all square.
