ASSOCIATION IN LONDON [from our own correspondent] By Air Mail LONDON, July 11 The New Zealand Women's Association held a reception at Grosvenor House on July 9, at which Miss Violet Russell, the vice-president, and members of the committee received about 250 guests. On this occasion men were invited, and a number were present. Among those who attended were Sir James Parr, the Chief Justice of New Zealand and Lady M.vers, the Countess of Liverpool, Lady Sinclair-Lockhart, the Hon. Mrs. Algernon Borthwick, Dr. and Mrs. Craig, Dr. and Mrs. Ealconer, Mrs. Michie, Mr. Melville Gray, Mrs. Grahame Michie, Miss Harcourt, Colonel and Mrs. Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. David Reid, Mrs. E. J. Riddiford, Mr. and Mrs. B. Tripp, Mrs. Lowry, Mrs. David Davidson, Mrs. I. W. Raymond, Mrs. S. G. Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Burns, Mrs. W. G. Wickham, Mrs. and Miss Rodie, Mrs. Cunningham, Miss Merle Cunningham, Mrs. Leo Myers, Mrs. A. J. Harrop, Miss Forsyth, Mrs. Henry Wood, Mrs. Welstead, Lady Shirtcliffe, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. D. Mahon.
Heavy rain—a real deluge—probably prevented many people from getting to Park Lane. Traffic was seriously disorganised for hours.
