HOSPITAL AUXILIARY
THE ONEHUNGA BRANCH Congratulations on the untiring effort:* of members of the Onehunga branch of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary were conveyed to thorn by Mrs. E. A. Kidd, president of the Auckland branch, who presided at the annual meeting held in the Onehungii Borough Council Chambers on Monday afternoon. There was a large attendance of members and supporters, including Mrs. W. Kirkham, president of the .Onehunga branch, Mrs. John Park, patroness, and Miss Bluett, matron of the Auckland Infirmary. The annual report, submitted by the secretary, Mrs. 11. S. Patterson, paid a warm tribute to members of tho various committees for their conscientious and unremitting work in the interests of tho inmates of the infirmary. Tho duties of tho entertainment, visiting, library, sowing and preserves committees had all been consistently carried out at the infirmary, and during the summer months the transport committee had organised a series of motor drives for the patients. Appreciation was expressed in tho report of the useful work done by Mrs. T. J. G. Neill, convener of the convalescent patients' committee, who had regularly assisted a number of former inmates with warm clothing, and other comforts. It was further stated in tho report that wireless sets had been installed and maintained in the T.B. shelters at the infirmary by the Onehunga branch of the auxiliary, and every endeavour had been made to keep the sets in good order. The statement of accounts showed a credit balance of £l7 9s Id. The following officers were elected: — Patroness, Mrs. John Park, Mayoress of Onehunga; president, Mrs. W. Kirkh am; vice-presidents, Mrs. J. H. Wathew and Mrs. A. Fieldsend; secretary, Mrs. H. S. Patterson; treasurer, Mrs. L. Anderson; conveners of subcommittees, library, Mrs. G. Tregidga and Mrs. C. E. Hankins; visiting, Mrs. J. Sievwright;. sewing, 'Mrs. M. A. Straw; entertainment; Mrs. J. H. Wathew; preserves, Mrs. A. Harding; convalescent patients, Mrs. T. J. G. Neill; finance, Mrs. W. Kirkham, Mrs. G. E. Foote. Mrs. T. H. Geraghty, Mrs. G. H. Bray and Mrs. C. Kelsall.
