COMMUNITY LIGHTING
MOUNT EDEN APPROVAL RIDGE ROAD COMMENDED A request from the Mount Eden Central Shopkeepers' Association for approval oi their promotion of a community lighting scheme, as has been carried out at Balmoral, was granted at last night's meeting of the Mount Fden Borough Council. A similar request relating to community lighting in the Valley Boad area also was granted. The proposal to construct a scenic road along a ridge of the Waitakere Ranges was strongly supported. "It will bo a wonderful job and a great deal of labour will bo required," said tho Mayor, Mr. T. McXab. After he had indicated that the road would probably cost tho borough about £BOO, it was decided to approve the project.
