DUTIES AGAINST GERMANY RUSSIAN PACT RENEWED WASHINGTON, July 1 2 Two important international trade developments were announced by the Government yesterday. One was the imposition from to-day of countervailing duties against Germany wherehy extra imposts of from 22i to 56 per cent will be collected on certain goods in order to compensate for bounties which the German Government is granting to exporters of these articles. The other development was that the trade pact with Russia was renewed for another year. Under this, the Soviet undertakes to purchase a minimum of 30,000,000 dollars worth of American goods and in return receives the benefits of the most-favoured-nations clause. The Soviet in 1935 purchased 37,000,000 dollars worth.
