PHILISTINES CLUB
Bright entertainment was provided at the fortnightly At Homo of the Philistines Club held on Saturday evening. The guests were received by the chairman for the evening, Mr. W. H. V. Taine. The programme included songs by Miss Kay Christie and Mr. Ernest Snell, humorous items by Miss Joan Ross, a display of magic by "Kardo (Mr. C. Morris). The programme concluded with a sketch entitled "Weatherwise," in which the parts were taken by Miss Mav Kingsley, Miss Elsie Prosser, Miss' Violet Spurling, Miss Marjorie Yeatman, Messrs. Mervyn Rattray, Norman Bourn and Wilfred Lane. The accompanists for the evening were Mrs. Maud Lysaght and Mr. Eric Maxwell. Among those present were: Mrs. V. Tavlor, Mrs. W. J. Dallen, Mrs. A. J.
