SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST
SCATTERED RAINS LATER The Government meteorologist issued to the Hkkald last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province:—Light to moderate and variable winds, but southorlies setting in later and freshening. The weather is likely to be fair to cloudy and mild at first, but later scattered rains developing and temperatures becoming colder. Seas slight to moderate. WEEK-END WEATHER Auckland. —The weather during the week-end was very cold in the morning and also very changeable, Saturday was calm and fine but a fog was experienced for about eight hours earlv in the morning. Yesterday the wind was light and varied between west and south. Light rain fell for a short period during the early morning and the evening. The temperature at 4 p.m. yesterday was 56 degrees. After being steady at 30.40 in. from Friday night, the barometer was falling slowly after mid-day yesterday. Barometer, midnight, falling .. 30.30 in, Midnight, Saturday .. 30.40in< Wellington.—Fine and sunny weather was experienced during the week-end with a very light northerly breeze. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 53 degrees and the minimum on Saturday 42 degrees. The maximum yesterday was 56 degrees. Christchurch.—The weather during the week-end was gloriously fine with a fairly high barometer. A hard frost on Friday night was followed by brilliant sunshine on Saturday ami conditions were the same yesterday with remarkably warm temperatures. The barometer was steady over the - week-end at :Jo.2oin. Dunedin.—Calm weather with an overcast sky was experienced on Saturday. The minimum temperature was 35 degrees. The barometer had a falling tendency. Conditions yesterday were similar but the temperature was somewhat milder. The barometer was falling steadily.
