AIR LINER IN DANGER
DOG ESCAPES FROM ORATE ACCIDENT ALMOST CAUSED SYDNEY. Joly II A racing greyhound which was being brought from Brisbane to Sydney in an air liner yesterday nearly caused n major accident on route. The dog apparently did not relish his trip in an aeroplane, in which there were eight passengers. He escaped from a basket crate in the luggage compartment and clawed his way through tho fuselage of the machine. When over Coff's Harbour at r. height of 2000 ft. the dog either accidentally fell or was hurled from the aeroplane, and the pilot felt a sudden interference with the controls. This caused tho machine to dip perilously and endanger the lives of those on board. The incident soon passed and when Mascot aerodrome was reached a large hole was found in the fuselage and the dog was missing. Evidence was seen of two other attempts by the dog to escape.
