OPEN TOURNEY
PROFESSIONALS' GAMES SUCCESS OF C. WOODROFFE s JACOBSEN BEST AMATEUR A professional open tourney was held by tho Akarnna Golf Club during the week-end. Although the greens and tho approaches were not in such good order as during the recent winter championship, the course was playing fairly well. Poor putting in the morning saw Jacobsen's score mount to S3, but in (lie afternoon a brilliant run of 11, -1, l, 2 after the turn, which he reached in 3!), enabled him to finish in 71 C. Woodroffe, the young professional to tho Tilirangi Club, had a very successful day and his wins were popular. In the morning he led the field in the gross medal, and also the handicap bogey event, lie continued to play steadily in the afternoon and maintained his lead in the scratch medal.
