TAURANGA COUNTY RATES
CHARGES FOR THE YEAR [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, Saturday Tho Tauranga County Council has struck general rates for the current year as follows:—Katikati riding, 2Jd in tho pound; Tepuna riding, 2Jd; Waimapu riding, 2}d; To Puke riding, 2-} d; Maketu riding, 2d. Tho general rate is levied on the unimproved value. The council also decided to striko a rate of 3d in tlie pound on the unimproved value for by-roads over tho whole county. Tho hospital rate was fixed at three-eighths of a penny in the pound on the capital value. 'lho Hospital Board advised that tho county's share of the levy for the current year was £2611. The county clerk, Mr._ H. Lowis, stated that this was an increase of £316.
