MONEY BY FRAUD
TWO YEARS' PROBATION [" FROM OUR OWN* CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Saturday A plea of guilty was entered in tho Hamilton Police Court to-day by Jesse Charles Hawkins, aged 50, a farm labourer, who was charged with obtaining £5 by fraud from Fritz von Zalinski at Horahora by means of a valueless cheque. Constable P. Watts, who prosecuted, said that accused purchased a motorcar from von Zalinski, and tendered a valueless cheqife in payment. He received £.5 in change. Accused had not been before tho Court before. Tho car had been returned. The magistrate. Mr. S. L. Paterson, admitted accused to probation for two years, and ordered him to make restitution within three months.
