( STOCKS AND SHARES £HE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE COMMERCIAL BANKS LOWER An.active tone marked closing operations for the week on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday. Considering there was only one call, the turnover was fairly heavy. Offers for the 4 per cent Government loans were advanced and sellers of the stock issues came oil the market. However, no business was done. Levels for Commercial Banks continued to decline and a parcel was secured Id cheaper at 18s Sd, at which more were available. New Zea lands dropped 3d in a. transfer at 41s 3d. .Business in loan and agency shares was at unchanged rates and levels in the other classified groups showed little variation. A feature of the market for Australian industrials was the further improvement iu Dunlop Pcrdriaus, which sold 2d higher at ISs 9*l. Hume Pipe were fractionally cheaper, but Morts Dock ro<fe sharply in dealing at 12s 3d and 12s Id. Taranaki Oil were secured 3d lower at Is Id. New Zealand industrials were dealt in at current rates.

The exchange premium on dividends payable in sterling is included.
