BAPTIST TABERNACLE
REOPENING OF HALL SPECIAL SERVICES HELD To celebrate the reopening of tho rear portion of the Baptist Tabernacle, which has been extensively remodelled during the past six months, special gatherings were held during the weekend. Tho opening ceremony at the lower entrance was conducted by the minister, the Rev. Dr. Alexander Hodge, on Saturday afternoon, when there was also a short greeting from the Rev. H. K. Kempton, a former minister. The primary section was opened by Mrs. Hodge, leader of that portion, while the Bible class and church administration sections were opened by Mr. S. Barry, elder and general superintendent. The upper hall was opened by the primary superintendent, Mr. C. E. Turley. In the evening there was a rally for young people conducted by the Christian Endeavour Union, at which the speaker was Mr. J. P. Miller, the caravan evangelist. Prayer meetings were resumed in the new hall yesterday morning, while a special thanksgiving service was held by the Sunday school in the afternoon. The morning and evening services were conducted by the minister. There was a crowded congregation in the evening, when a baptismal service was held. A day of prayer to-day will conclude with a communion service this evening, and on Wednesday night there will be a social gathering.
