Banana and Pineapple
For this dainty trifle take five : small sponge-cakes, two bananas, j one tin pineapple blocks, a little j castor sugar, one lemon, quarter- ■ pint cream. Slice the sponse-cakes, i and cut the bananas into rounds. • Arrange them in alternate layers in : a glass dish and squeeze the lemon ■ juice over them. Empty the pine- j apple over all, cover the dish and let ■ the contents soak for one hour. Whip : the cream lightly, add a feu) drops • of vanilla essence, and pour over the j trifle. :
